The DJI Matrice 400 delivers industry-leading flight performance for professionals who demand endurance, speed, and versatility in the field. Its 6 kg payload capacity supports up to seven simultaneous payloads, including LiDAR, thermal, visual, spotlight, speaker, and third-party modules. The aircraft reaches horizontal speeds of up to 25 m/s, climbs at 10 m/s, and descends at 8 m/s, making it fast, responsive, and ready for time-sensitive operations.


This power is supported by the TB100 Intelligent Battery, which is rated for up to 400 charge cycles. The BS100 Battery Station offers efficient three-battery cycle charging, while the optional TB100C tethered battery allows for extended, continuous flights in fixed or semi-fixed positions. With the DJI RC Plus 2 controller and Manifold 3 onboard computing compatibility, the Matrice 400 brings high-end performance and seamless control to every mission.

Intelligent Automation

Power-Line-Level Obstacle Sensing

The Matrice 400 features an obstacle sensing system that combines rotating LiDAR, high-precision mmWave radar, and full-colour low-light fisheye vision sensors. This system excels at detecting small obstacles like power lines across complex terrain, even at night or in adverse weather. These sensors also power the drone’s omnidirectional positioning capabilities, allowing it to fly confidently near reflective surfaces.

Next-Generation Video Transmission

With a ten-antenna system on the drone and a high-gain phased array antenna on the remote controller, the O4 Enterprise system delivers up to 40 km of image transmission range. It supports the sub-2GHz frequency band and can use two DJI Cellular Dongle 2 units to switch carriers for optimal network stability in urban or remote areas. The Matrice 400 can also function as a relay drone.

Multi-Payload, Multi-Scene Versatility

The DJI Matrice 400 is built for adaptability, with a maximum payload capacity of 6 kg that supports complex, multi-sensor missions across diverse applications. It features seamless switching between single and dual downward gimbals, and includes a third gimbal connector on the underside to further expand mission flexibility.

With four external E-Port V2 ports, the Matrice 400 can mount up to seven payloads simultaneously, enabling powerful sensor combinations for tasks such as mapping, inspection, public safety, and more.

Paired with the Zenmuse H30 Series payload, the drone can perform advanced detection of vehicles, people, or vessels using both visible and thermal imagery. It also supports high-resolution grid photography, precise tracking, and integration with multiple payload types to meet a variety of mission needs.

The Matrice 400 enhances pilot awareness with a suite of AR tools including Power Line AR, Map View AR, AR Flight Waypoints, and real-time Live Annotations. These features display contextual information such as building names and road markings directly on the remote controller screen day or night improving navigation and decision-making in complex urban landscapes.

Matrice 400 maintains a consistent altitude relative to the ground in any horizontal direction during both manual and automated flights. This improves subject consistency on-screen during search and rescue missions and ensures uniform ground sampling distance (GSD) for high-accuracy mapping.
Ship-Based Takeoff and Landing
Designed for offshore use, the drone can safely take off from stationary ships and land on moving vessels by recognizing deck patterns, making it ideal for maritime patrols and wind turbine inspections.
Intelligent Flight Modes
Cruise mode keeps the drone flying steadily without constant control. FlyTo mode auto-adjusts path and speed to reach a set point with little input. Smart Track precisely follows and reacquires moving targets. Point of Interest mode orbits a target for ongoing observation or 3D modelling.

Easier Automated Operations

When paired with the advanced Zenmuse L2 LiDAR system, the Matrice 400 offers automated power transmission and distribution line inspection flights. Leveraging the rotating LiDAR sensor, the system detects obstacles in real time and intelligently navigates to bypass crossing lines, ensuring a safe and efficient flight path without manual intervention. Additionally, the flagship drone supports sophisticated route planning through DJI Pilot 2 or DJI FlightHub 2, enabling automated flights along slope and geometric routes. This capability is ideal for detailed aerial surveys of building facades, inclined terrains, and other complex surfaces.
